biological activity
L-( )-Rhamnose Monohydrate is a naturally occurring deoxysugar.
in vitro studies
L( )-Rhamnose (Rham) is a naturally occurring deoxysugar, mainly found in plants and some bacteria. Unlike most natural sugars, its configuration is L instead of D. It is the main structural component of plant cell walls and binds to other compounds, such as phenols. Due to its anti-inflammatory and soothing skin properties, it is now used as an anti-wrinkle agent.
Use
Used as biochemical reagent.
Used as a biochemical drug
rhamnose can be used to determine intestinal permeability and can be used as a sweetener.
